Parenting a Teen: What's Not to Love?

Arlington Community Education
November 2, 2016, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Workshop; Arlington High School, Arlington, MA

For parents of pre-teens and teens: What if you could thoroughly enjoy your child’s teen years instead of just “enduring” them? What if you could feel empowered and more in control? In this workshop, parents will learn practical skills they can apply to day-to-day parenting challenges for immediate results. This workshop will teach parents how to communicate with their teenagers and pre-teens and give them a better understanding of what a teenager needs to feel supported and understood. Using a “Parent as Coach” approach, parents will master proven methods to establish rules and guidelines that respect their child’s need for more independence while teaching responsibility. In a supportive community of other parents, participants will learn how to manage their parenting anxiety and begin to love — or at least like — the teen years.
